My name is Derrick, I’m a male in my mid-50s who has decided to learn how to write.

Of course I can already write in the everyday sense — emails, messages, notes — but I’ve never learned how to write articles, stories, or books in a way that truly engages people. I’ve read plenty of content that feels polished but lifeless, and it made me wonder: what could happen if I tried to create writing with more personality and humanity?

At the same time, we’re living in an age where AI can generate endless text in seconds. While that technology is impressive, I’m interested in exploring the human side of writing — voice, experience, and meaning — and seeing whether those qualities still matter.

Zero2Writer is my public experiment.

I’m documenting my journey as I learn to write better, test different ways of earning through writing, and see whether I can build a real income from scratch. This site is about progress, mistakes, lessons, and small wins.

If you’re starting from zero too, you’re welcome to follow along.
